The answer to letter A is (x-y)² because if x=5 and y= -3 the problem would be (5-(-3))² and when you have -- that means you add. ik weird right. So basically that would be 8² which equals 64. Rather then the other one which was (x+y)² because again that would be (5+(-3))² but different because of the addition sign. so, that's asking what 5-3 is which is 2² which equals 4. Making (x-y)² bigger. I hope this helped
A: no
X = 3
2x + 3
2(3) + 3
6 + 3
9
For the other one:
2(x + 3)
2(3+3)
2(6)
12
2x + 3 and 2(x + 3) are not equivalent because one has parentheses, which means you will have to do parentheses first instead of multiplication (PEMDAS rule)
Hope this helps!
I believe by the first equation they are referring two a representation of the total amount of money made up by the two types of coins. I found this to be 0.05x + 0.10y = 3.50
In my work I solved for the amount of each coin- I assume this is what the final step of your problem entails. If you need any help understanding/ I misinterpreted something please feel free to comment and ask :)
#5c coins or x= 36
#10c coins or y= 17
Answer:
1st Qtrl: 11
Median: 20.5
3rd Qtrl: 25.5
Range: 22
Step-by-step explanation:
Median = average of 2 middle values (18 + 23) / 2
1st Qtrl = average of 10 and 12 (the lower half of data)
3rd Qtrl = average of 25 and 26 (the upper half of data)
Range = largest value - smallest value; 30 - 8 = 22
