Answer:

(8,1)

Step-by-step explanation:

I don't know how you are supposed to answer this, there are several methods.  I will use the earliest algebraic method I know, if you were supposed to do this graphically then you should graph these lines on graph paper and see where they cross

line 1: y = (3/4)x - 5

line 2: y = (-1/4)x + 3

at the point these lines cross the x and y values of the two lines are the same, so you can write

y (line 1) = y (line 2) or

(3/4)x - 5 = (-1/4)x + 3, subtract 3 from both sides

(3/4)x - 8 = (-1/4)x, multiply both sides by 4 (to eliminate the denominators)

3x -32 = -x, add x, add 32 to both sides

4x = 32, divide both sides by 4

x = 8, substitute x = 8 into either of the linear equations

y=(3/4)x - 5 = (3/4)(8) - 5 = (24/4) - 5 = 6 - 5 = 1

so the intersection point is (8,1)

Given that the answer worked out well, the graphic method should be good too.

Answer:

The equation of a line in slope-intercept form is y = mx + b

where m is the slope

and b is the y-intercept.

For example,

   in the equation  y = 9x - 7

   the slope is 9

and the y-intercept is -7, which means that the line crosses the y-axis at the point (0, -7)

If your question you are given m=3/8 and you can find the value of b from the given y-intercept.

Step-by-step explanation:

The slope-intercept form of a linear equation is:

y

=

m

x

+

b

Where

m

is the slope and

b

is the y-intercept value.

Substituting gives:

y

=

3

x

A photographer uses an online service to sell some of his work. The amount of money he will make from selling 10 copies of the s
VLD [36.1K]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The expression representing the amount of money that the photographer would make from selling 10 copies is given as

10(0.75p - 0.5)

where p represents the price determined for each copy. Assuming the price charged per copy is $5, then the amount made from 10 copies is

10(0.75 × 5 - 0.5) = $32.5

It could have been

10(5 - 0.5) = $45

The price is being reduced by 25%(100 - 75)

Therefore, the option that most likely describes the agreement between the online service company and the photographer is

A. The company keeps 25% of the amount paid for each copy and charges the photographer $0.50 for every copy purchased.

What are the coordinates of the vertex for f(x) = x2 + 4x + 10?
MAVERICK [17]
You have to complete the square to get it into vertex form.  Do this by setting the function equal to zero and at the same time moving the constant over to the other side of the equals sign so you have this: x^{2} +4x=-10.  Now we can complete the square on the polynomial by taking half the linear term, squaring it, and adding it to both sides.  Our linear term is 4. Half of 4 is 2, and 2 squared is 4, so we add 4 to both sides: ( x^{2} +4x+4)=-10+4 and simplify to get ( x^{2} +4x+4)=-6.  In this process we have created a perfect square binomial on the left, which happens to be (x+2) ^{2}=-6.  Now move the -6 back over by addition to get (x+2) ^{2} +6=y.  The vertex is found at (-2, 6), the third choice down.

Paul burned 65 calories in 15 minutes. How many calories did he burn in 1 hour? Please show how got to your answer!
stira [4]

Answer:

65 calories=15 minutes

Find how many minutes it will take Paul to born 1 calory. You divide 65 by 15

65÷15=4.333

Find how many calories lost in 1 hour= 60 minutes multiply by 4.3

60*4.333=260 calories

Therefore,

Paul burns 260 calories in 1 hour
