Many families wanted extra income -- and required a wife's earnings — to afford the lifestyle they desired. Yet middle-class women felt the pressure of the culture telling them to stay home. Many also had little desire to work in the nine-to-five jobs open to them.

It would be an example that shows it is important to vote because the president has executive powers that allow him/her to appoint a justice which is a lifetime appointment and is a very very powerful position, so choosing a right president could affect many things.
