Discuss how diet plays such an important role in preventing and treating type 2 diabetes.
kati45 [8]
A balanced diet that limits processed foods can help prevent type 2 diabetes. To treat this illness with diet, a diabetic must check their blood glucose levels regularly and eat accordingly. Carbs and proteins consumed together can help balance glucose levels.

Mrs. And Mr. Smith both have widow’s peaks (dominant). Their first child also has a widow’s peak, but their second child doesn’t
zheka24 [161]

Answer:

Mr. Smith is not justified, Mrs. Smith can not be blamed necessarily for being unfaithful

Explanation:

Widow's peak is a dominant trait which means that it will be expressed both in homozygous and heterozygous condition. If "A" is the dominant allele and "a" is the recessive allele, the trait can be represented as AA or Aa.

Both Mr. Smith and Mrs. smith expressed the trait so they can either have AA or Aa genotype. If even one of them had AA genotype all the offspring would have the trait. But if both of them are heterozygous for it:

     A a

A AA Aa

a Aa aa

There is 75 % probability of the child to have the trait (AA or Aa) but there is also 25% probability that the child does not express the trait (aa). Their second child belongs to this category and hence Mrs. Smith can not be blamed for being unfaithful.

Which muscles move without conscious control?
voluntary or involuntary
ra1l [238]

I believe the correct answer is involuntary

Explanation

The human body has 2 groups of muscles; voluntary and involuntary that are divided into 3 types of muscles: Cardiac muscles found only in the heart, smooth muscles found in hollow organs and also internal organs and skeletal muscles that support the human skeleton and also protect organs. An example is the thigh muscle. Of the muscles, Cardiac muscles and smooth muscles are completely involuntary in addition to diaphragm which is a skeletal muscle.

Further Explanation

1. Cardiac Muscle

The cardiac muscle is found only in the heart and is controlled by the brain only. It is the reason why your heart beats without your control. The part of the brain responsible for this control is a region called pons in the hind brain. It is an involuntary muscle. It also is different in structure to all the other types of muscles.

2. Smooth muscles

These are muscles found in organs and also lining of some organs such as blood vessels and the bronchioles. They also form organs such as the liver, lungs and uterus. They are involuntary muscles that are under the control of the brain and perform functions such as breathing and regulation of body temperature and blood pressure.

3. Skeletal muscles

This is the most common type of muscle and is found in almost everywhere you touch for example the thighs, arms, legs, head, chest. They are tough muscles that coordinate to help the skeleton in movement, protect internal organs and also link up body parts. You can control them and they are voluntary. For example, when you stand up you use your skeletal muscles.
