The graph of the line with the equation y = 1/2 * x + 4 crosses the x-axis at which of the following
svlad2 [7]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

so we are looking for the x intercept (where the line crosses the x axis).

to do this, we sub in 0 for y and solve for x.

y = 1/2x + 4....sub in 0 for y

0 = 1/2x + 4

-1/2x = 4

x = 4 * -2

x = -8 <=== so it crosses the x axis at (-8,0)

I'm in a rush & I really need to solve these two problems:
Elenna [48]
1. 23.5 x 2.3 = 54.05
when you are multiplying decimals you have to line up the decimal point.
example:
23.5
2.3

2. 12.34 x 4.321 = 53.32114
once again you need to line up your decimals when multiplying two decimals.
example: however I had to add a zero to the number 12.34 so everything would line up correctly. I hope you understand that.

Write an equation of the line in slope intercept form that pass through the two
Ber [7]
\bf \begin{array}{lllll}
&x_1&y_1&x_2&y_2\\
% (a,b)
&({{ -2}}\quad ,&{{ 15}})\quad
% (c,d)
&({{ 9}}\quad ,&{{ -18}})
\end{array}
\\\\\\
% slope = m
slope = {{ m}}= \cfrac{rise}{run} \implies
\cfrac{{{ y_2}}-{{ y_1}}}{{{ x_2}}-{{ x_1}}}\implies \cfrac{-18-15}{9-(-2)}\implies \cfrac{-18-15}{9+2}
\\\\\\
\cfrac{-33}{11}\implies -3

\bf \stackrel{\textit{point-slope form}}{y-{{ y_1}}={{ m}}(x-{{ x_1}})}\implies y-15=-3[x-(-2)]
\\\\\\
y-15=-3(x+2)\implies y-15=-3x-6\implies y=-3x+9
