For every 3 laps that Jackie swims, Ronnie swims 4 laps. During practice, they swam a combined total of 63 laps. How many laps d
Flura [38]

Answer:

36 laps Ronnie swim during practice .

Step-by-step explanation:

Let us assume that the laps that Ronnie swims be x .

Let us assume that the laps that Jackie swims be y .

As given

For every 3 laps that Jackie swims, Ronnie swims 4 laps.

i.e

3 × laps that Ronnie swims = 4 × laps that Jackie swims

3 × x = 4 × y

3x = 4y

Equation becomes

x + y = 63

Thus by using 3x = 4y .

y = \frac{3x}{4}

Thus

x +\frac{3x}{4} = 63

4x + 3x = 63 × 4

7x = 252

x = 36

Put the value of x in the equation x + y = 63

36 + y = 63

y = 63 - 36

y = 27

Therefore the 36 laps Ronnie swim during practice .

This shape is made using three semicircles The smaller semicircle have diameters of 10cm Calculate the shaded area Take 3.142 an
CaHeK987 [17]

Answer:

The shaded area is 314.2 cm²

Step-by-step explanation:

Here we have the diameter, d₁ of the smaller semicircles as 10 cm

We note that the larger semicircle is subtended (bounded) by the two smaller semicircles;

1 shaded small semicircle and the other is blank

Therefore, the diameter, d₂ of the large semicircle = 10 + 10 = 20 cm

Also the area of the shaded figure consists of the removal of one small semicircle and the addition of the other semicircle to the area of the larger semicircle such that the area of the shaded figure is as follows

Shaded area of figure = π·d₂²/4 + π·d₁²/4 - π·d₁²/4 = π·d₂²/4 = π×20²/4 = 100×3.142 = 314.2 cm²

Shaded area = 314.2 cm².

Select the following lines that would be perpendicular to y = 3x + 1. (Select ALL correct)
max2010maxim [7]

Answer:

The line passing through points (1,4) and (4,3).

The line passing through points (1,-4) and (4,-5).

Step-by-step explanation:

Since the equation is y=3x+1

If it was perpendicular, it means the slope would be the negative reciprocal.

So the slope would be -1/3

9-8/6-3=1/3 (not negative) No

3-4/4-1=-1/3 Yes

-5+4/4-1=-1/3 Yes

6-3/5-4= 3/1 No

2=2m−7 SOLVE FOR M PLS AND THANK YOU
Gala2k [10]

Answer:

m = 4.5

Step-by-step explanation:

2 = 2m - 7

add 7 to both sides

9 = 2m

divide by 2 on each side

4.5 = m

CHECK:

2 = 2(4.5) -7 (TRUE)

2 · 4.5 = 9

9 - 7 = 2

I hope this helps!
