The only difference between functions f(x) and g(x) is the slope. To get from f(x)=x to g(x)=2x, you would need to rotate slightly counter-clockwise about point (0,0) - the origin/y-intercept. This would make the graph steeper (2x is steeper than x) while still retaining the (0,0) y-intercept.
