Gases are easily compressed, the particles have large spaces between them, so it is easy to push them closer together. Gases have very low densities, there are huge amounts of space between particles. Due to the large spaces between particles in a gas you can force the particles closer together using a plunger.

Andre listed some properties of electromagnetic waves.
ANEK [815]

Answer: Electromagnetic waves can transfer energy through empty space.

Explanation:

Electromagnetic waves are formed when an electric field comes in contact with a magnetic field. The electric field and magnetic field of an electromagnetic wave are perpendicular to each other. They are also perpendicular to the direction of the wave.

Electromagnetic waves travel with speed of light in vacuum.

Electromagnetic wave does not need a medium to propagate or travel from one place to another. Electromagnetic waves are 'transverse' waves which means that they are measured by their amplitude and wavelength.

Electromagnetic waves do not lose energy when they travel and thus can travel far from its source.

An airplane travels east at an air speed of 400.0 m/s into a head wind of 35.0 m/s. What is the airplane's ground speed?
mezya [45]

Velocity of the plane relative to the air = +400.0 m/s

Velocity of the air relative to the ground = -35.0 m/s (negative because it's moving opposite to the eastward direction)

Velocity of the plane relative to the ground = (velocity of the plane relative to the air) + (velocity of the air relative to the ground) = 365.0 m/s to the east

An object attached to a horizontal spring is oscillating back and forth along a frictionless surface. The maximum speed of the o
Sliva [168]

Answer:

t = 0.37 seconds

Explanation:

t = (1/4)T

Maximum acceleration is;

a_max = Aω²

In simple harmonic motion, we know that v_max = Aω

Thus, a_max = v_max•ω

ω = a_max/v_max

We know that Period is given by;

T = 2π/ω

From initially, t = (1/4)T so, T = 4t

Thus, 4t = 2π/(a_max/v_max)

t = (2π/4)(v_max/a_max)

We are given;

Maximum velocity;v_max = 1.47 m/s

Max acceleration;a_max =6.24 m/s²

Thus,

t = (2π/4)(1.47/6.24)

t = 0.37 seconds
