At one store, Matt saved $15 with a coupon for 30% off his total purchase. At another store, the 24$ he spent on books is 48% of

his total bill. How much did Matt spend in all at he stores ?

$15 = 30%
Y = 70%

Y = (15x70) / 30
Y = $ 35 (Total purchase at store 1)

STEP 2:

$24 = 48%
Z = 100%

Z = (24x100) / 48

Z = $50 (Total purchase at store 2)

STEP 3:

$35+$50

= $85 (TOTAL PURCHASE)
