Answer:

$252

Step-by-step explanation:

<h2><u>Step 1</u></h2>

Toy has $36 and gets $36 from Ami. Now he has $36*2= $72

<h2><u>Step 2</u></h2>

Toy gets $72 from Jan to double his money and now has $72*2= $144

<h2><u>Step 3</u></h2>

Toy gives enough money to Ami and Jan to double their money

Toy has $36 at the end, so he has given $144 - $36= $108 to Ami and Jan

Since he doubles their money by giving $108, they now have

  • $108*2= $216

Now we add the amount Toy has at the end to the amount Ami and Jan have at the end to get final amount:

  • $216+$36= $252
<h2></h2><h2>So the friends have $252</h2>

Johnny bought an oil painting originally priced at $80 but on sale for for 50% off. After 10% sales tax, what was the total cost
Alecsey [184]

Answer:

$44

Step-by-step explanation:

Original price = $80

Discount on sale = 50%

Discounted price = (1 - 50%) * original price

Discounted price = 0.5 * $80 = $40

Sales tax = 10%

Sales tax amount = 0.1 * $40 = $4

Total cost = discounted price + sales tax amount

Total cost = $40 + $4 = $44
