If the length and width of a rectangle each doubled what happens to the area of the rectangle

It would quadruple.

Basically, it will quadruple because you are multiplying, which doesn't make much sense actually.

An example is with a 2 by 2 figure, you would get 4 squared as the area, but if you double both sides, 4 by 4, you would get 16 squared as the area.

The arc length is 0.785 units and the diagonal  is √2 units

<h3>How to determine the lengths?</h3>

The question requires that we determine the lengths of the blue line and the arc

The blue line is the diagonal of the square, whose side length (l) is

l = 1

The diagonal is then calculated as:

d = l * \sqrt 2

This gives

d = 1 * \sqrt 2

d = \sqrt 2

The diagonal divides the vertex of the square into 45 degrees a piece, and the diagonal represents the radius of the arc

This means that:

r = \sqrt 2

\theta = 45^o

The arc length is:

l = \frac{\theta}{360} * \pi r^2

So, we have:

l = \frac{45^o}{360} * 3.14 * \sqrt 2^2

This gives

l = \frac{282.6}{360}

Divide

l = 0.785

Hence, the arc length is 0.785 units and the diagonal  is √2 units

What is pi actual nummber
Korvikt [17]
If you are using pi in a equation, people normally shorten it to 3.14. But here is the link to the first 100,000 digits of pi: http://www.geom.uiuc.edu/~huberty/math5337/groupe/digits.html

Y_Kistochka [10]

Answer:

12 gallons

Step-by-step explanation:

A U.S. quart is equal to \frac{1}{4} of a gallon.

Thus, 4 quarts is equal to 1 gallon.

Now 48 quarts contain 12 of 4 quarts, therefore, 48 quarts is equal to 12 gallons.
