A lot of things cause earthquakes and all of the boundaries have a play

Explanation:

Tectonic Movements: The disturbances inside the earth are called tectonic movements. ...

Volcanic Eruptions: The volcanic eruptions are often very violent and cause vibrations in the earth crust. ...

Other Reasons: The roofs of underground caves sometimes give way and release great force to cause minor tremors in the earth crust. ...

Answer: An earthquake is caused by a sudden slip on a fault. When the stress on the edge overcomes the friction, there is an earthquake that releases energy in waves that travel through the earth's crust and cause the shaking that we feel.

An air-track glider attached to a spring oscillates between the 13.0 cm mark and the 63.0 cm mark on the track. The glider compl
LuckyWell [14K]

Answer:

(A) = 2.13 s

(B) = 0.47 Hz

(C) = 0.25 m

(D) = 0.74 m/s

Explanation:

number of oscillations (n) = 15

time (t) = 32 secs

start point (L1) = 13 cm = 0.13 m

End point (L2) = 63 cm = 0.63 m

(A) period = time / number of oscillation

           = 32 / 15 = 2.13 s

(B) frequency = 1 / period

              = 1 / 2.13 = 0.47 Hz

(C) Amplitude = 0.5 ( L2 - L1 )

                           = 0.5 ( 0.63 - 0.13 )

                          = 0.25 m

(D) max speed = (2π / T) x A

                        =  (2π / 2.13) x 0.25

                       = 0.74 m/s

During a 40-mile trip, Marla traveled at an average speed of x miles per hour for the first y miles of the trip and at an averag
Ilya [14]

Answer:

\dfrac{32+0.2y}{40}

Explanation:

Total =40 miles.

y miles at x miles/hr.

40- y miles at 1.25 x miles/hr.\

We know that

Distance = time x velocity

For y miles

Lets time taken to cover y miles is t

y = x t

t=y/x                -----------1

For 40- y

Lets time taken to cover 40- y is t'

40- y = 1.25 x t'

t'=(40-y)/1.25x           -----------2

By adding both equation

t+t'=y/x  + (40-y)/1.25x

t+t'=(32+0.2y)/x

Now lets time T taken by Marla if she will travel at x miles per hr for entire trip.

40 = x T

T=40/x

So

\dfrac{t+t'}{T}=\dfrac{32+0.2y}{40}

To find numerical value of above expression we have to know the value of y.
