Answer:

-\frac{3}{20}

Step-by-step explanation:

<u>GIVEN :-</u>

  • One of the two rational numbers = -\frac{9}{20}

<u>TO FIND :-</u>

  • Sum of two rational numbers = -\frac{3}{5}

<u>SOLUTION :-</u>

Let the another rational number be 'x'.

According to the question , the equation formed will look like this :-

x + (-\frac{9}{20} ) = -\frac{3}{5}

=> x - \frac{9}{20} = -\frac{3}{5}

Now solve the equation.

  • Add  \frac{9}{20} to both the sides of equation in order to isolate 'x'.

=> x - \frac{9}{20} + \frac{9}{20} = -\frac{3}{5} + \frac{9}{20}

=> x = \frac{9}{20} - \frac{3}{5}  = \frac{9 - (3 \times 4)}{20} = \frac{9 -  12}{20} = \frac{-3}{20}

Answer:

-3/20

Step-by-step explanation:

Let other number = x

∴ -9/20 + x = -3/5

∴ x = -3/5 + 9/20

∴ x = -3/20

Hope this helps  :) !!!!

olchik [2.2K]
If we let p and t be the masses of the paper and textbook, respectively, the equations that would best represent the given in this item are:
      (1)       20p + 9t = 44.4
      (2)       (20 + 5)p + (9 + 1)t = 51

The values of p and t from the equation are 0.6 and 3.6, respectively. Thus, each paperback weighs 0.6 pounds and each textbook weighs 3.6 pounds.

Answer:

They drove 150 miles on the third day

They drove 50 miles per hour so if you multiply that by 3 (since they drove 3 hours on the third day) you would get 150 miles.
