In each enzyme, the active site is induced to fit specific substrate molecules. Thus, the specificity of its 3-dimensional structure plays a key role in its activity, as specific substrates fit to the specific enzyme. Its induced fit, however, as explored by the Induced Fit Model changes shape slightly in order to cater for the slight shape changes of a substrate.
