Answer: B. Carbohydrates will dissolve in water but not lipids.

Both carbohydrates and lipids have the same chemical composition like hydrogen, carbon and oxygen, but in lipids the oxygen content is much reduced. Lipids have polar head and a large non polar tail and lack of oxygen makes it hydrophobic in nature means they do not form bonds with water molecule, hence not soluble in it. Carbohydrates have polar hydroxyl group which forms bonds with hydrogen atom present in water therefore, hydrophilic in nature means it is soluble in water.

Which term best describes the systems in an animal's body?
umka21 [38]

Answer:

B. interconnected

Explanation:

All the systems in our bodies (humans are indeed animals) are connected with each other to create a functional being. The blood flows throughout the body, providing nutrients; the bones support the structure and protect the heart and lungs. They work together.

Why not A: The systems are all completely necessary. There's nothing extraneous in our bodies, because extraneous stuff takes up energy, and our biology is incredibly economical.

Why not B: They're not interchangeable. How would you like your bones to turn to blood? Uh-huh.

Why not D: They interact with each other consistently, so they're not separate or segregated.

Lady bird [3.3K]

The disadvantage of wolf captivation is that it restricts the sample size which prevents to make a conclusion on the species.

Explanation:

To study the behavior of the wolves that are kept in captivation during their feeding times, food enrichment programmes are performed. The feeding sessions were proved to be quite useful in studying the stereotype behavior of the wolf.

However, this study is experimented on small samples and on restricted environment that doesn’t represent the actual environment of a zoo where wolves are allowed to behave as per their nature.
