Answer:

We set up 2 equations

A) C + A = 100

B) 5C + 12A = 780

We multiply A by -5

A) -5C -5A = -500   then we add B

B) 5C + 12A = 780

7A = 280

Number of Adults = 40

5C = 780 - 40*12

5C = 780 -480

5C = 300

Number of Children = 60

Eleanor and her little sister Joanna are responsible for two chores on their family’s farm, gathering eggs and collecting milk.
iris [78.8K]

Answer:

4 dozens

Step-by-step explanation:

<em>Find Eleanor and Joanna's ratio of eggs to milk</em>

Eleanor:

<em>Dozen eggs : gallons of milk</em>

9 : 3

3 : 1

Joanna:

<em>Dozen eggs : gallons of milk</em>

2 : 2

1 : 1

<em>They gather one gallon of milk each which means Joanna has 1 dozen eggs and Eleanor has 3 dozens of eggs.</em>

Total dozen of eggs = 3 + 1 = 4

Therefore, total dozen of eggs the family have per week is 4 dozens.

What is the percent of change in 6 yards to 36 yards
BaLLatris [955]

Answer:

The percent of change in 6 yards to 36 yards is 500% .

Step-by-step explanation:

Formula

Percentage = \frac{Change\ in\ value\times 100}{initial\ value}

Where

Change in value = Final value - initial value

As given

The percent of change in 6 yards to 36 yards.

Final value = 36 yards

initial value = 6 yards

Change in value = 36 - 6

                           = 30 yards

Put in the formula

Percentage = \frac{30\times 100}{6}

Percentage = \frac{3000}{6}

Percentage = 500%

Therefore the percent of change in 6 yards to 36 yards is 500% .

What is the additive inverse of ?
AVprozaik [17]
In mathematics, the additive inverse of a number a is the number that, when added to a yields zero. This operation is also known as the opposite (number), sign change, and negation. ... For example, the additive inverse of 7 is −7, because 7 + (−7) = 0, and the additive inverse of −0.3 is 0.3, because −0.3 + 0.3 = 0 .
