What does it take in order for plates to move?
cricket20 [7]

Answer:

Earth's thin outer shell is broken into big pieces called tectonic plates. These plates fit together like a puzzle, but they're not stuck in one place. They are floating on Earth's mantle, a really thick layer of hot flowing rock. The flow of the mantle causes tectonic plates to move in different directions.

Which best describes the purpose of a control sample?
maks197457 [2]
A control sample serves as a sample used to eliminate errors or minimize them. Also, it is used to prevent the effect of one parameter which is not the subject being studied. For instance, in an adsorption experiment a control sample is always included wherein in a flask  it only contains the adsorbate solution. The said sample is responsible for calculating how much of the adsorbate is being adsorbed on the sides of the flask.

1. How does the molecular property of water affect its cohesive properties?
azamat

Answer:

Water molecules have strong cohesive forces thanks to their ability to form hydrogen bonds with each other.

Explanation:

Cohesion refers to the attraction of molecules by other molecules of the same type.

The structure of the water molecule is given by two hydrogen atoms and one oxygen atom that are held together by covalent bonds. It is a polar molecule and consequently forms bonds called hydrogen bonds with other molecules.
