List three ways express 3 to the 5 power as a product of powers
sweet [91]
3^5 = 3^3 \times 3^2\\\\3^5 = 3^4\times 3^1\\\\3^5 = 9^2 \times 3^1\\\\3^5=3^2\times 27^1

You can chose any three out of those four.

Hope that helped :)

How does pemdas work?! It always confuses me!
const2013 [10]

So PEMDAS is order of operations basicly.

P=Parenthesis

E=Exponets

M=Multiplication

D=Division

A=Addition

S=Subtraction

For example: 2x4+(9x9)-1

When solving order of operations you ALWAYS start with the problem in the parentheses.

(9x9)=81

Now multiplication comes next so, 2x4=8

Then addition, 8+81=88

Lastly subtraction, 88-1=81

Yall how do I find a common denominator? If the question is 3/4+2/3 would I multiply 3 by 3 and 2 by 4?? So if 3x3 is 9 and 2x4
PolarNik [594]

the common denominator is the number on the bottom of the fraction. in this case it would be 4 (in 3/4) and 3 (in 2/3), you have to find a number which equals the same for both! so 3 and 4 both go into 12. 3 × 4 and 4 × 3, so you common denominator is 12! but, you also have to multiple the same number up on the top number. so 3 × 3 and 2 × 4. Then you Add! but only the top numbers! you can only add/subtract fractions that have the same common denominator! your answer will end up being the improper fraction of 17/12. if you have to turn it into a decimal or make it proper, then do so ^^

to find a common denominator, you have to find the number which both numbers equally go into! so no decimals. check the times tables!

Evaluate the Riemann sum for f(x) = 3x − 1, −6 ≤ x ≤ 4, with five subintervals, taking the sample points to be right endpoints.
Verdich [7]

Answer:

The Riemann sum equals -10.

Step-by-step explanation:

The right Riemann Sum uses the right endpoints of a sub-interval:

\int_{a}^{b}f(x)dx\approx\Delta{x}\left(f(x_1)+f(x_2)+f(x_3)+...+f(x_{n-1})+f(x_{n})\right)

where

\Delta{x}=\frac{b-a}{n}

To find the Riemann sum for \int\limits^{4}_{-6} {3x-1} \, dx with n = 5 rectangles, using right endpoints you must:

We know that a = -6, b = 4 and n = 5, so

\Delta{x}=\frac{4-\left(-6\right)}{5}=2

We need to divide the interval −6 ≤ x ≤ 4 into n = 5 sub-intervals of length \Delta{x}=2

a=\left[-6, -4\right], \left[-4, -2\right], \left[-2, 0\right], \left[0, 2\right], \left[2, 4\right]=b

Now, we just evaluate the function at the right endpoints:

f\left(x_{1}\right)=f\left(-4\right)=-13=-13

f\left(x_{2}\right)=f\left(-2\right)=-7=-7

f\left(x_{3}\right)=f\left(0\right)=-1=-1

f\left(x_{4}\right)=f\left(2\right)=5=5

f\left(x_{5}\right)=f(b)=f\left(4\right)=11=11

Finally, just sum up the above values and multiply by 2

2(-13-7-1+5+11)=-10

The Riemann sum equals -10
