I've read it not so long time ago, so I remember it well enough. I'm 100% sure that my answers are correct. Check it out:

1. If my memory serves me well, Gene trains for the 1944 Olympics because of this: B. Gene will compete for Finny since Finny cannot because of his leg.

2. I'm definitely sure that the sentence given above is a perfect example of the C. foreshadowing.

Are these similes or metaphors
Sliva [168]
Just so you know...

A simile is comparing something with something else using 'like' or 'as' (for example - I swam in the sea like a fish or my room is like a tip).

A metaphor is a word or phrase that compares something with something else (for example - his heart is metal or my room is a tip). Hope this makes sense!

1. The road was as curvy as a snake - Simile

2. My mum told me that my room is like a pigsty - Simile

3. Mike is like a scared kitten as he enters the haunted house - Simile

Hope I helped!

Read the sentence. the team won the majority of the regular season games, so they were optimistic about a victorious post-season
Papessa [141]
Based on the given sentence above, I can say that it is a compound sentence. What makes this sentence compound is that, it consists of two independent clauses and are connected by a coordinating conjunction "so". Therefore, the answer for this would be the last option: two independent clauses.
