Why was Andrew Johnson acquitted on charges of impeachment?
REY [17]

Answer: c. Johnson’s lawyers assured moderate Republicans that he would behave for the rest of his term, so several voted to acquit him

Explanation:

The votes of about seven moderate Republicans in addition to 12 Democrats Senators gave an edge to President Johnson in what many scholars have termed a weak case for impeachment who was voted guilty by 35 Senators.

The reason why he was acquitted despite the charges against him for impeachment was that the votes that convicted him fell short of a two-thirds majority.

Who was Hernan Cortes and how was he a clever leader? Short response.
Papessa [141]
Hernan Cortes was a Spanish conquistador (1485-1547) who conquered large parts of what is now mainland Mexico in the name of the King of Castile. He is a largely controversial figure, most known for overthrowing the Aztec Empire's leader, Montezuma ll. He captured the Aztec's leaders and brought diseases their immune systems could not handle. During the 16th century, he and his men captured the largest portion of land in North America. He was a clever leader because of the Spaniard's technological advancements, and his army strategy. Much of his power came from manipulating the conquered people through threatening their leaders.

What two courses could the United States take Which choice does Madison want Congress to take
olchik [2.2K]
I'm not really sure what you mean by what courses could the United States take, but I do know that Madison wanted to have a national vote for president. The voting would count every States' votes on an equal manner, so it was more democratic

Hope this helped!
