What determines whether or not you will develop a disease or medical condition?

Medicine

Answer:

There are many factors such as your environment, lifestyle, and natural traits. For example, If you live in a city, your risk of a medical condition is higher than someone living in rural lands because you interact with a more polluted environment compared to the person living in rural lands. Lifestyle counts as your diet and exercise, age is also a factor as well. As one gets older the immunity system gets weaker as well as other organs making them more vulnerable to disease. Regular use of drugs also contributes to a higher chance of disease. On the other hand, exercise can help one stay fit and active, allowing them to have strong body systems. Disease can also be linked to genetics. When a genetic variation occurs, you either get the dominant gene or the recessive gene, so one might inherit a disease from family linked genetics. I also wanted to add that mutations can also cause disease. For example, sickle cell disease is caused by a mutation in the hemoglobin-Beta gene found on chromosome 11.

Olenka [21]

The nurse will assess the infant for signs of drug toxicity.

Some drugs have a narrow therapeutic index, which means that there is only a small difference between the minimum effective concentrations and the minimum toxic concentrations in the blood. With such drugs, small increases in dose or in blood/serum concentrations could lead to toxic effects.

Nephrotoxicity can show signs of other types of decreased kidney function, such as decreased urination, swelling from fluid retention and high blood pressure. In some patients, nephrotoxicity can affect other body systems such as the liver or the skin and show signs in those areas as well.

Brilliant_brown [7]

Answer: Frontal

Explanation:

Body can be divided into equal haves based on the axis by which the body is cut. When the body is cut from a frontal plane then it gets divided into two halves.

One half of the body is anterior and other half of the body is known as posterior half. The anterior part is the front side of the body and the posterior part of the body is the back part of the body.

Hence, the correct answer is option A

ira [324]

Answer: dependency is more likely in cultures where access to alcohol is carefully controlled.

Explanation:

Studies have shown that in cultures where access to alcohol is carefully controlled and viewed as a sign of adulthood, dependency is more likely than in cultures where alcohol is used in religious and ceremonial activities.

This has been put down to people tending to abuse alcohol when they get access to it as opposed to cultures where it is readily available.

the nurse is assigned to clients who are having the following procedures: amniocentesis, fetal nonstress test, chorionic villus
zheka24 [161]

Amniocentesis, chorionic villus sampling, percutaneous umbilical blood sampling are the procedures of which the nurse will ensure that the client's signed informed consent has been given and is in the client's record.

Amniocentesis is a procedure in which amniotic fluid is removed from the uterus for testing or treatment. This fluid surrounds and protects the baby during pregnancy and contains various proteins and fetal cells. This test has small chance that will lead to miscarriage and thus informed consent form is necessary.

Chorionic villus sampling involves taking a tissue from the placenta to test for chromosomal abnormalities and certain other genetic problems. This test may also cause miscarriage.

Percutaneous umbilical blood sampling, this test takes fetal blood directly from the umbilical cord and is also categorized an invasive test which carries risks and complications.
