Step-by-step explanation:

❁ \underline{ \underline{ \text{Given} }}:

  • Mass of a large rock ( m ) = 4.0 kg
  • Velocity ( v ) = 2.0 m/s

❁ \underline{ \underline{ \text{ \: To \: find}}}:

  • Momentum ( p )

✑ \underline{ \underline{ \text{Solution}}} :

\boxed{ \underline{ \sf{Momentum \:  =  \: mass \:  \times  \: velocity}}}

plug the known values :

⟹ \sf{Momentum = 4.0 \: kg \:  \times  \: 2.0 \:m/s }

⟹ \sf{Momentum = 8 \: kg \: m/s}

✑ \underline{ \underline{ \text{Learn \: more about \: momentum}}}:

Imagine that a car and a truck both have the same speed on the road. Which one can stop easily ? Of course , it is hard to stop the truck relative to the car. The reason is that the car and the truck have the same speed bit different masses. Thus , we can say that to stop a heavier body is harder than to stop a lighter one even both of them have the same speed.

If two tennis balls are hit towards you in different velocities , it is not equally easier to stop them. The ball in more velocity is difficult to stop relatively. Thus , we can say that to stop a body in more velocity is harder than to stop a body with less velocity , eventhough they have the same speed.

The physical quantity that describes the quantity of motion of a body is called momentum. The momentum of a moving body or linear momentum is defined as the product of mass & velocity of a moving body.

Mathematically ,

Momentum = mass × velocity

i.e p = m × v

The SI unit of momentum is kg • m/s. Since velocity is a vector quantity and multiplied with mass ( scalar quantity) , momentum becomes a vector quantity. Direction of momentum is the same as velocity.

Pls solve fast ! I’m begging you ! The lesson is operations on functions
Oliga [24]

Step-by-step explanation:

1a. Just add both of them.

8x - 3 + 4x + 5 = 12x + 2

1b. We just subtract both of the functions.

(8x - 3) - (4x + 5) =

4x - 8

1c.

(8x - 3)(4x + 5)

32 {x}^{2}  + 28x - 15

1d.

\frac{8x - 3}{4x + 5}  = 2 - \frac{13}{4x + 5}

Answer the question right or I report you
zubka84 [21]

Answer:

3 ÷ 0.25

Step-by-step explanation:

There are three squares, so 3.

Each square is divided into four squares,

One square out of four squares is,

1 / 4 = 0.25

Therefore,

3 ÷ 0.25

A particular brand of tires claims that its deluxe tire averages at least 50,000 miles before it needs to be replaced. From past
Vadim26 [7]

Answer:

We conclude that deluxe tire averages less than 50,000 miles before it needs to be replaced which means that the claim is not supported.

Step-by-step explanation:

We are given that a particular brand of tires claims that its deluxe tire averages at least 50,000 miles before it needs to be replaced. From past studies of this tire, the standard deviation is known to be 8000.

From the 28 tires surveyed, the mean lifespan was 46,500 miles with a standard deviation of 9800 miles.

<u><em>Let </em></u>\mu<u><em> = average miles for deluxe tires</em></u>

So, Null Hypothesis, H_0 : \mu \geq 50,000 miles   {means that deluxe tire averages at least 50,000 miles before it needs to be replaced}

Alternate Hypothesis, H_A : \mu < 50,000 miles    {means that deluxe tire averages less than 50,000 miles before it needs to be replaced}

The test statistics that will be used here is <u>One-sample z test statistics</u> as we know about population standard deviation;

                                  T.S.  = \frac{\bar X-\mu}{\frac{\sigma}{\sqrt{n} } }  ~ N(0,1)

where, \bar X = sample mean lifespan = 46,500 miles

            \sigma = population standard deviation = 8000 miles

            n = sample of tires = 28

So, <u><em>test statistics</em></u>  =  \frac{46,500-50,000}{\frac{8000}{\sqrt{28} } }

                               =  -2.315

The value of the test statistics is -2.315.

Now at 5% significance level, the z table gives critical value of -1.6449 for left-tailed test. Since our test statistics is less than the critical value of z as -2.315 < -1.6449, so we have sufficient evidence to reject our null hypothesis as it will fall in the rejection region due to which we reject our null hypothesis.

Therefore, we conclude that deluxe tire averages less than 50,000 miles before it needs to be replaced which means that the claim is not supported.

Find the surface area of a rectangular prism with a height of 6 inches, a width of 7 inches, and a length of 13 inches. A) 338 i
oee [108]

Answer:

422 in.2

Step-by-step explanation:

Substitute the measurements of the rectangular prism into the formula SA = 2(lw) + 2 (lw) + 2(lh): 2(13)(7) + 2(6)(7) + 2(13)(6) = 422 in2.
