X= "a certain number of inches"

side a= x-3
side b= 2 inches

multiply:
Area= a(b)
A= (x-3)2
A= 2(x-3)

distribute:
A= 2(x-3)
A= (2*x) + (2*-3)
A= 2x-6

Area= 2(x-3)
Area= 2x-6

Verbal Answers: The area of the rectangle is equal to the multiple of its two sides this is equal to two inches times an expression three less than a certain number "x"<span>. Using the distributive property, we can solve this expression further to find that the area of this rectangle is also equal to six less than doubling a certain number x</span>.

Hope this helped! :)

Which quadratic function shows a y-intercept of 4 and a maximum value of 5
Elena L [17]

Answer:

The 4th graph

Step-by-step explanation:

To have a maximum value, your parabola would have to open downwards. So the first 2 are wrong. Since your y-intercept is positive 4, your graph would have to touch the y axis at 4. The 3rd graph is wrong since it touches the y-axis at a negative point. The correct answer would be the 4th answer choice.

A triangle has side lengths of 7 centimeters, 5 centimeters, and c centimeters.
storchak [24]
Sum of two sides always greater than the third side

If c is the smallest number, then

5 + c > 7
c > 2

If c is the largest number, then

5+7>c
12>c

Adding c>2 and 12>c, you get 12>c>2 for the answer
