The chemical reaction is written as:

2H2O(g) = 2H2(g) + O2(g)

The mass action expression is the same as the equilibrium constant expression of the reaction. The equilibrium constant expression of the reaction is the ratio of the concentration of the products and the reactants where the concentrations are being raised to the power of their coefficients from the balanced chemical reaction. Therefore, the expression for the decomposition of H2O would be:

K = [H2]^2 [O2] / [H2O]^2

In writing equilibrium expressions, it should be noted that substances that are pure fluids are not to be included in the expression as well as solid substances.

Kay [80]

Answer:

From the diagram, the water is being boiled. This process vaporises the water in the vessel leaving salt crystals behind.

Since the water is needed in liquid form, the cold water at the top of the set-up

condenses the vapor so it can be used.

The decomposition reaction of CO2(g) to produce carbon and oxygen gas consumes 462 kJ of energy. The energy levels of the produc
Semenov [28]

Answer:

higher, left

Explanation:

Given that the reaction consumes 462 kJ of energy. It means that the reaction is a endothermic reaction.

In the energy profile of the endothermic diagrams, The reactants are at a very low level as compared to the products and hence, energy is supplied to overcome this difference.

Hence, The energy levels of products are higher than the energy level of reactant.

Hence, already stated, heat is required by the reaction and thus heat is written to the reactant side which is to the left side of the equation.

An experiment is carried out to observe the melting ice. Heat energy is supplied at a constant rate. The temperature of the ice
zhenek [66]

Answer:

If the ambient temperature around a piece of ice increases, the temperature of the ice will increase as well. However, this steady increase in temperature stops as soon as the ice reaches its melting point. At this point, the ice undergoes a change of state and turns into liquid water, and its temperature won't change until all of it has melted. You can test this with a simple experiment. Leave a cup of ice cubes in a hot car and monitor the temperature with a thermometer. You'll find that the icy water remains at a frosty 32 degrees Fahrenheit (0 degrees Celsius) until all of it has melted. When that happens, you'll notice a quick temperature rise as the water continues to absorb heat from the inside of the car.
