In the 1850s Chinese immigrants established Chinatowns in the cities
Elan Coil [88]

In the 1850s Chinese immigrants established Chinatowns in the cities; Many U.S. states, including Arizona, California, Locke, Sacramento, Salinas, San Diego, the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, Connecticut, Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Louisiana.

This is further explained below.

What is Chinatown?

There were two major waves of Chinese immigration; the first began in the 1850s, and the second began in the late 1970s and continues to the current day. Important policy shifts in the United States and China in the 1960s ushered in a new era of Chinese immigration to the United States. Between 1980 and 2016, the number of mainland Chinese immigrants increased by a factor of two. The Western United States was where you'd find most of the country's Chinatown. Many U.S. states, including Arizona, California, Locke, Sacramento, Salinas, San Diego, the San Francisco Bay Area, Colorado, Connecticut, Columbia, Hawaii, Illinois, Louisiana,

Massachusetts, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, and others. America's major metropolises all had Chinatowns. Chinatowns, particularly smaller ones like the one in Washington, DC, are losing their original purpose as immigration patterns shift toward returning to China. Historically, Chinatowns have been established on the West Coast, but as possibilities evolve, more Chinatowns are springing up in less prominent locations all throughout the country. Most Chinatowns today originated as Chinese-only neighborhoods.
