Even though they are the same temperature, the metal will feel colder than the wood because of the thermal conductivity of the metal, compared to the wood. Metal is a good conductor of heat, hence it sends away the heat. On the other hand, wood is a poor conductor of heat, hence releases the heat too slowly.
The sun heats up water on the earth which causes the water to evaporate thefore the hot water vapor rises up to higher altitudes where it's colder which causes condensation, without the sun this could never happen
