Assume a cube has side lengths of 2 inches. What is the area of the base of that cube? Does it matter which face we call the bas

e? What is the volume of that cube? Instead, assume the cube has side lengths of 3 inches. What is the area of the base now? The volume? Based on that, what do you think the relationship is between side length, area, and volume? Would that still be true even if it is not a cube? (Put another way, if the side length is x, what is the area and volume?)

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Volume of a cube:

V = a3

Surface area of a cube:

the area of each face (a x a) times 6 faces

S = 6a2

Face diagonal of a cube:

By the pythagorean theorem we know that

f2 = a2 + a2

Then f2 = 2a2

solving for f we get

f = a√2

Diagonal of the solid cube:

Again, by the pythagorean theorem we know that

d2 = a2 + f2

substituting f into this equation we get

d2 = a2 + (a√2)2 = a2 + 2a2 = 3a2

solving for d we get

d = a√3

The coordinates of rectangle ABCD are A(1, 2), B(4, 5),C(9, 0) and D(6, -3). What is the area of the rectangle? 18 square units
Natali5045456 [20]
In order to find the area of a rectangle, the formula is L*W (Length multiplied by Width). Our goal is to find these two measurements, so we will take the following steps:
1) Plot the coordinates on a graph (I have attached a visual guide)
2) Using the Pythagorean Theorem, or the Distance formula we can find the length and width: \sqrt{(x_{2}-x_{1} )^{2} +(y_{2}-y_{1} )^{2}
3) We will use these values in the Area formula for a rectangle (L*W)
4) After solving the Area formula with the values retrieved from the Distance Formula we find that the area is roughly 30 units squared.

Parallelogram PQRS has diagonals that are perpendicular. Based on that, which statement is most correct?
viva [34]

Answer:

B- Parallelogram PQRS is also a rhombus.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given

Parallelogram PQRS with perpendicular diagonals

Required

Which of the option is true

(a) PQRS can be a rectangle

A rectangle do not have perpendicular diagonals.

Hence, (a) is false

If (a) is false, then (d) is also false

(b) PQRS can a rhombus

The diagonals of a rhombus are not perpendicular.

So (b) is true

No need to check for (c), since only option is true
