The total cost of an order of gift baskets includes the cost of each gift basket plus a one time delivery fee. The cost of each

Answer:

x = cost of each gift basket = $14.5

y = one time delivery fee = $135

Step-by-step explanation:

Let

x = cost of each gift basket

y = one time delivery fee

40x + y = 715 (1)

400x + y = 5935 (2)

Subtract (1) from (2)

400x - 40x = 5935 - 715

360x = 5220

x = 5220/360

x = 14.5

Substitute x = 14.5 into (1)

40x + y = 715 (1)

40(14.5) + y = 715

580 + y = 715

y = 715 - 580

y = 135

x = cost of each gift basket = $14.5

y = one time delivery fee = $135

Answer:

A) y = 4

Step-by-step explanation:

Line AB is a vertical line, so a line perpendicular to it would have to be a horizontal line (perpendicular lines make an "x" shape with one another). Horizontal lines are written as y = ___ .

The perpendicular line also has to pass through the point (2,4). Points are written as (x, y). Therefore, the y-value in (2,4) is 4.

The perpendicular line has to be y=4 since it passes through both the Line AB and the given point.

A small grocery store offers two different brands of milk.
m_a_m_a [10]

Answer:

the total cost of milk for Brand B will pass through the points (0,1.50) and (0.5,4.50).

Step-by-step explanation:

Brand A 2% milk costs $3.50 a gallon. If 0 gallons of milk are purchased, the cost is $0. If 1 gallon of milk is purchased, the cost is $3.50. So, the ray representing the total cost of milk for Brand A will pass through the points (0,0) and (1,3.50).

Brand B whole organic milk costs $3.00 for a half-gallon, plus a one-time deposit of $1.50 for the glass jug. At 0 gallons, the cost is $1.50 for the deposit. At 0.5 gallons, the cost is $3.00 + $1.50, or $4.50. So, the ray representing the total cost of milk for Brand B will pass through the points (0,1.50) and (0.5,4.50).

Since Brand A goes through the origin, Brand A is proportional. The correct graph is shown below.
