The Chinese Government recently revised
their nation's history curriculum by declaring
that the Chinese Communist Party played a fundamental role in the World War II
victory, defeating Japan. It made no mention of the 30 million Chinese who died
under the communist revolutionary Mao
Zedong's program known as the Great Leap Forward.

There are times when democracy does not meet the
expectations of the people. Sadly there
are times when it fails the people who believe in it. This is when corrupt officials abuse their
position in government and implement policies that limit democracy and the
rights of the people. When services intended for the people are not available
that is another example. The worst
instance is when there is no justice in the system as the guilty goes free and
the innocent gets blamed.
