Mathematics

Given:

Consider the discount percent and SP are given.

To find:

The MP.

Solution:

Let x% be the discount percent Then

SP=MP-x\%\text{ of }MP

SP=MP-\dfrac{x}{100}MP

SP=\left(1-\dfrac{x}{100}\right)MP

SP=\left(\dfrac{100-x}{100}\right)MP

Multiply both sides by 100.

100SP=(100-x)MP

Divide both sides by (100-x).

\dfrac{100}{100-x}SP=MP

Therefore, the formula for MP is MP=\dfrac{100}{100-x}SP, where x is the discount percentage.

I have 2 questions that I need help with if someone could please help me step by step to figure out how to do this equation it w
mina [271]
The statement " <span>y </span><span>varies directly as </span><span>x </span><span>," means that then </span><span>x </span>increases,<span>y </span><span>increases </span><span>by the same factor so we have: y/x=k
for question 1 then: 15/5=3
so the direct variation equation is y=3x
Now if x=9 you only have to replace x in your equation and you get:
y=3*9=27</span>

Some people advise that in very cold weather, you should keep the gas tank in your car more than half full. Lou's car had 5.5
givi [52]

Answer:

  $28.50

Step-by-step explanation:

Lou needed to add ...

  13 - 5.5 = 7.5

gallons to the tank.

The cost of that gas was ...

  ($3.80/gal)×(7.5 gal) = $28.50

Lou spent $28.50 filling the gas tank.

marishachu [46]
f(x)= x^{2} +8x+10
f(-6) = (-6)^2+8(-6)+10
f(-6)=36-48+10 = -2

2.4,1.6,3.2,0.3,1.5 each piece of data is increased by 10 calculate the new mean
Lesechka [4]

Answer:

The new mean is: 11.8

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the data set

2.4  1.6  3.2  0.3  1.5

Sum of terms = 2.4 + 1.6 + 3.2 + 0.3 + 1.5 = 9

Number of terms = 5

We know that the mean of a data set is the sum of the terms divided by the total number of terms, so

Mean = Sum of terms / Number of terms

substituting Sum of terms = 9 and Number of terms = 5

         = 9/5

          = 1.8

Thus, the Mean = 1.8

We need to determine the mean when each piece of data is increased by 10.

All we need is to add 10 in the determined mean to determine the new mean.

New Mean = Mean + 10

                   = 1.8 + 10

                   = 11.8

Therefore, the new mean is: 11.8

<u>VERIFICATION:</u>

When each piece of data is increased by 10

2.4+10+1.6+10+3.2+10+0.3+10+1.5+10=59

so,

\frac{59}{5}=11.8
