Naddik [55]

me need slope and y intercept to get it in y=mx+b form (slope intercept)

Slope is the

difference in y / differences in x

differences in y = 6.5 -3  = 3.5

difference in x = 2 - 1 = 1

so slope is 3.5/1 or just 3.5

(now you can see the answer is c but lets check it by getting the y intercept too)

y intercept

this is when x is 0

the lowest x we see is 1 so if I go bacl to 0 in x the y must for back 3.5

3-3.5 is -0.5

so equation is y=3.5x -0.5 so the closest is c

Each marble bag sold by Rachel's Marble Company contains 3 purple marbles for every 2 green marbles. If a bag has 21 purple marb
kozerog [31]
The ratio is 3:2, purple :green
The bag has 21 purple so to get from 3 to 21 it is multiplied by 7; so we must also multiply the 2 by 7 to keep the ratio balanced.

Given that p²,q² are two roots of x²-x+16=0. <br>Form another equation with roots 1/p,1/q.
statuscvo [17]

Answer:

  x² -3/4x +1/4 = 0

Step-by-step explanation:

Consider the two equations in factored and expanded forms:

  (x -p²)(x -q²) = x² -(p²+q²)x +p²q² = 0   ⇒   p²+q² = 1, p²q² = 16

and

  (x -1/p)(x -1/q) = x² -(1/p+1/q)x +1/(pq) = 0

Consider the squares of the sum and product of roots:

  constant term: (1/(pq))² = 1/(p²q²) = 1/16   ⇒   1/(pq) = √(1/16) = 1/4

  x-term: (1/p +1/q)² = (p +q)²/(pq)² = (p² +q² +2pq)/(p²q²)

  = (p² +q²)/(p²q²) +2/(pq)

  = 1/16 +2/√16 = 9/16   ⇒   (1/p +1/q) = √(9/16) = 3/4

Then the equation with roots 1/p and 1/q is ...

  x² -3/4x +1/4 = 0

Evaluate the expression x2 + y2 if x = -3 and y= -2
Fantom [35]

Answer:

The Answer is 1

Step-by-step explanation:

It's 1 because x is -3 and its getting squared so its -3 times -3 which is 9. And then Y is -2 cubed so -2x-2x-2 which equals -8.

9-8=1

Hope this helps!
