Is this an example of a horizontal asymptote?
8_murik_8 [283]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

Hi there,

The graph indicated is showing a horizontal asymptote. In fact, it is showing both a horizontal and a vertical asymptote.

To tell which type it is, notice where the graph "shoots off" and almost forms an imaginary straight line in one direction. Using this logic, the horizontal asymptote will be exactly horizontal, parallel to x-axis, and vertical asymptote will be exactly vertical, parallel to y-axis.

With this graph, we notice the horizontal asymptote is at y=0, where the x-axis is. The vertical asymptote is bit more difficult to determine graphically, but can definitely say it is past x=-10. We could determine it if we had the function, but that is not necessary for this question.

Study well, and persevere. If you liked this solution, leave a Thanks or give a rating!

thanks,

Need help with number 4
anastassius [24]
Find the common denominators. for the miles 5 and 3 go into 15. so 2/5 times 3 is 6/15. and 2/3 times 5 is 10/15. for the hours 5 and 9 go into 45. 1/5 times 9 is 9/45. and 2/9 times 5 is 10/45. so Susan ran 6/15 of a mile in 9/45 of an hour. and Kim ran 10/15 of a mile in 10/45 of an hour.

so Kim ran 3 miles in an hour. Susan ran 2 miles in an hour.

3 squares = 4 circles, so (number of squares)/(number of circles) = 3/4.
3/4 = 12/16
:::::
4 squares = 2 circles, so (number of squares)/(number of circles) = 4/2.
4/2 = 2/1
:::::
2 squares = 5 circles, so (number of squares)/(number of circles) = 2/5.
2/5 = 4/10

Step-by-step explanation:

8% of $48 is $3.84 so we subtract $48-$3.84=$44.16. Because of the coupon we then remove $6. $44.16-$6=$38.16
