Is a river abiotic or biotic? A river is an abiotic factor.

Why? A biotic factor is anything living or used to be living while a biotic factor is something that is nonliving and was always non-living like a rock.

Snezhnost [94]
The answer would be osmosis

Osmosis is the movement of water caused by the difference in osmotic pressure. The salt or any solute that hydrophilic will attract water. But since it cannot move/diffuse pass the membrane, it is the water that will move to the solute. This will cause the volume of the box with more solute/salt increases.
