Barry’s go cart is faster. If Alan’s go cart goes 1760 feet per minute multiply by 60 you get 105,600 feet an hour. There is 5,280 feet in a mile. Multiply that by 21 you get 110,880.

An equation in the form ax2+bx+c=0 is solved by the quadratic formula. The solution to the equation is shown below.x=−7±√ "572"
7nadin3 [17]

Answer:

B: a = 1, b= 7, c = -2

Explanation:

\sf Quadratic \ Equation : \dfrac{-b\pm \sqrt{b^2 - 4ac} }{2a}

Knowing This:

<u>solve for b</u>

  • -b = -7
  • b = 7

<u>solve for a</u>:

  • 2a = 2
  • a = 1

<u>solve c</u>:

  • b² - 4ac = 57
  • 7² - 4(1)(c) = 57
  • -4c = 57 - 49
  • -4c = 8
  • c = 8/-4 = -2

Can anyone find the x and y intercepts for this equation?
ASHA 777 [7]
<span><u>1/3x - 1/2y = 1</u>

At the 'x' intercept, y=0 , and the equation is    1/3 x = 1

Multiply each side by 3 :            <em>x = 3 </em> <== the x-intercept

At the 'y' intercept,  x=0, and the equation is  -1/2 y = 1

Multiply each side by  2 :            - y = 2

Multiply each side by  -1 :            <em> y = -2  </em>  <== the y-intercept
