elena55 [62]
The difference between the two students that we know of is that they used a different meter stick. So the difference would be best attributed to  the different tools they used.

Note, this is quite a huge difference. It's likely that one of the sticks, or both, are quite defect.

*EXTRA PTS* How much weight is needed for a 10 m high ball to achieve 400 J of potential energy?
mafiozo [28]

Answer:

,Mass of the Body = 10 kg.

Height = 10 m.

Acceleration due to gravity = 9.8 m/s².

Using the Formula,Potential Energy = mgh

= 10 × 9.8 × 10 = 980 J.

(b). Now, By the law of the conservation of the Energy, Total amount of the energy of the system remains constant.

∴ Kinetic Energy before the body reaches the ground is equal to the Potential Energy at the height of 10 m.

∴ Kinetic Energy = 980 J.

(c). Kinetic Energy = 980 J.

Mass of the ball = 10 kg.

∵ K.E. = 1/2 × mv²

∴ 980 = 1/2 × 10 × v²

∴ v² = 980/5

⇒ v² = 196

∴ v = 14 m/s.

natta225 [31]
Variable is the object where the observation will either influence or receive the effect from the other object or variable. Hence, variables divided into two distinct parts in a study or traditionally an experimental study which is the independent variable and the dependent variable. The independent variable is the variable that can stand for itself until it affects the dependent variable, which is the variable that was influenced by the independent variable.

IV: Gender of the alligator
DV: Temperature at which the alligator mother will need to supply.
