Answer:

HMM

Explanation:

A seems very loosly related. B has a definite position and is related, but doesnt seem to pull from the text. C seemed to interject with unrelated information. D seems like it could be a nuetral standing ground to begin and doesnt add anything new. I would be between B and D, but B could potentially be the more correct chioce as it had a clear position and reasoning rather than being wishy washy.

Exercise 1 Draw one line under the simple subject and two lines under the simple predicate of each sentence below. Our bodies we
Mrrafil [7]

The underlined words have been correctly identified below:

Our bodies were jolted with every turn of the wheels.

Simple subject: bodies

Our bodies were jolted with every turn of the wheels.

Simple predicate : were jolted

What is a simple subject?

A sentence's simple subject is one in which only one noun serves as the main verb. An object, place, thing, or idea that is a noun is a subject.

A subject and a verb must be present in every sentence (or predicate). The sentence's focus is identified by the subject, which identifies it.

An object, location, or person doing an action is referred to as a simple subject. A complete subject includes all of the subject's modifiers and adjectives, whereas a simple subject is a single word that describes the topic without any of them.

Examples of Simple Subjects:

Thomas Edison created the lightbulb. The verb "invented" is being "done" in this sentence by "Thomas Edison."

Refer to the Newsela article "Health Benefits of Reading, Writing, Are Not Just for Patients."
Alex17521 [72]

Answer:

The two correct answers are:

"He found that children and adults who have read stories their whole lives were more likely to correctly identify the feelings and thoughts of others than those who do not read regularly."

"Trying to understand these characters exercises the same mental muscle that helps us understand people in the real world."

Explanation:

First, let's take a look at the statement:

"People who read stories are better at sharing and understanding other people's feelings."

The question asks us to find two other statements that support the sentence above. To do that, we can simply ask why or how we know this. Why do people who read stories understand other people's feelings better? How do we know that this is true? Whatever statement answers these questions is providing evidence or supporting them by explaining them.

The two last options are the best ones, in this case. People who read stories understand others' feelings better because they exercise the same mental muscle that does that understanding when they read. They do so by trying to understand the characters. This is what the last option tells us. How do we know that this is true? Because the researcher found out that children and adults who have read stories all their lives are more likely to identify feelings correctly. This is what the second to last option tells us.

Because she smiled at him, his day became brighter.

Not 100% sure about the comma placement, but I hope this helped :)
