In similar figures sides are in proportion

The sides of the bigger parallelogram are x+8 and 20

The sides of smaller parallelogram are x and 12

The sides are in proportion

\frac{x+8}{x} =\frac{20}{12}

We can solve this for x

To solve for x we cross multiply

20x=12(x+8)

20x=12x+96

Subtracting 12x both sides

20x-12x=96

8x=96

Dividing both sides by 8

x=12

State the domain and range of the following relation<br> x^2+y^2=16
Vlada [557]

The domain and range is  [-4, 4] and [0, 4]

<h3 /><h3>What is Domain and range?</h3>

The domain of a function is the set of values that we are allowed to plug into our function.

The range of a function is the set of values that the function assumes.

x² + y² = 16

y = √16 - x²

For domain under root should not be negative quantity,

16 - x²≥0

16≥x²

So, x≤4 or x≥4

Thus, the domain is  [-4, 4]

Range:

y is maximum at x=0, y=4

y is minimum at x=4, y=0

Thus, range = [0, 4]

What are the measures of those two angles? I’ll mark brainliest!
Lelechka [254]

Answer:

Two angles of a quadrilateral : 220 and 90 deg.

The other two angles (x and y) are in ratio 2:3.

We have:

x + y = 360 - 220 - 90 = 50 (property of sum of 4 angles in quadrilateral)

x/y = 2/3 => x = 2y/3

=>2y/3 + y = 50

=> 5y/3 =50

=> 5y = 150

=> y = 30

=> x = 2 x 30/3 = 20

=> Two other angles are 20 and 30 deg

Hope this helps!

A vehicle at the starting line travels at a constant speed of 0.5 miles per min. which function could describe this vehicle.
Nutka1998 [239]
We have the equation y=mx+b. Here, m is multiplied by x and represents the slope in our line, or its speed. The b here represents the starting point. First, since we start at the starting line, b is 0 (since we start from 0). Next, since our speed is 0.5, we multiply x by 0.5 to get 0.5x=y

Two men decide to drive to a distant town, taking the same route. The first leaves 2 hours ahead of the second and drives at 60
PolarNik [594]

Answer:

t = 6\,h

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that both men moves at constant speed on the same trail, the motion equations that describes each motion are, respectively:

Man 1

x = 60 \cdot t

Man 2

x = 90 \cdot (t-2)

Where x is measure in kilometers and t in hours, respectively.

The time taken for both men to meet each other is:

60\cdot t = 90\cdot (t-2)

30\cdot t = 180

t = 6\,h
