Find the solution set of this equation.
y^2-11y=0
separate the two values with a comma.
Tanya [424]

Answer:

0,11

Step-by-step explanation:

y^2-11y=0

y(y-11)=0 we have transformed the equation into a product

a product can be zero only if one of the factors is 0

so the two solutions are

y=0

and y-11=0 y=11

A Normal model states that if we draw repeated random samples of the same size, n, from some population and measure sample pro
notka56 [123]

Answer:

1) Randomization condition: We assume that we are selecting random samples so this condition is satisfied

2) 10% condition: We assume that the random sample selected is less than 10% of the population size

3) Success/ Failure condition:

For this case we need to satisfy this:

np \geq 10, n(1-p)\geq 10

So since the condition 1 and 2 are satisfied the correct option for this case would be:

a)np and nq must be respectively at least equal to 10

Step-by-step explanation:

Assuming the following options:

a)np and nq must be respectively at least equal to 10

b) as n increases, the distribution of sample proportions becomes less Normal

c) np and nq must be respectively less than 10

d) np plus nq must be at least 10.

For this case we need 3 basic conditions:

1) Randomization condition: We assume that we are selecting random samples so this condition is satisfied

2) 10% condition: We assume that the random sample selected is less than 10% of the population size

3) Success/ Failure condition:

For this case we need to satisfy this:

np \geq 10, n(1-p)\geq 10

So since the condition 1 and 2 are satisfied the correct option for this case would be:

a)np and nq must be respectively at least equal to 10

Three years ago Alicia was twice as old as her brother Carlos. In two more years Alicia will be just 50% older than Carlos. How
likoan [24]

Answer:

13 years

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the present age of Alicia be x

Let the present age of her brother be y

Three years ago;

Alicia age = x - 3

Her brother's age = y - 3

If three years ago Alicia was twice as old as her brother Carlos, then;

X - 3 = 2(Y-3)

x-3 = 2y - 6

x = 2y - 3 ...1

In two years time;

Alicias age = x+2

Her brother's age = y +2

If in two more years Alicia will be just 50% older than Carlos, then;

x+2 = y + 2 + (0.5(y+2))

x+2 = y+2 + 0.5y + 1

x+2 = 1.5y+3

x = 1.5y + 1 ...2

Equating 1 and 2;

2y - 3 = 1.5y + 1

2y - 1.5y = 1+3

0.5y = 4

y = 4/0.5

y = 8

Since x = 2y-3

x = 2(8) - 3

x = 16-3

x = 13

Hence Alicia will be 13 years old today
