Chitagong is located in Bangladesh and has had a very illustrious history. It has been inhabited for thousands of years and due to its location on the Bay of Bengal, became a major trading city connecting India and Indochina to other parts of the world.
The port has changed hands many times as different kingdoms and people sort to control the unique advantages the city offered. The Bengals, Portuguese, Dutch and the English all sort to control it at some point with varying degrees of success.
