Psychological dependence means someone has a strong urge to use the substance. It describes someone's mental addiction or something and the emotions as a result of the addiction.

Physical dependence means someone has built up a tolerance to the substance. If someone has a physical dependence, they will most likely have physical withdrawal symptoms.
