This desert has not received rain for weeks. Now that a storm has arrived in the area, how will the environmental change most li

kely affect the stability of this ecosystem?
A.
The rain will cause the desert to maintain the same level of stability, as the rain will temporarily provide animals and plants with water.

B.
The rain will cause the desert to become more stable, as the rain will provide animals and plants with a single large reserve of water.

C.
The rain will cause the desert to become more unstable, as the rain will wash away all the nutrients from the soil before they are absorbed.

D.
The rain will cause the desert to become alternately stable and unstable, as the rain will be consumed by plants before it reaches animals.

g Explain the meaning of ploidy (haploid, diploid, aneuploid etc.) and how it relates to the number of homologues of each chromo
olya-2409 [2.1K]

Answer:

The correct answer is - Ploidy is the number of sets of chromosomes in a biological cell.

Explanation:

Ploidy is the number of sets of the chromosome in a living cell. Ploidy is known for different condition such as haploid, diploid, and aneuploid, and many more depends how many homologues chromosome numbers are present in the cell.

Diploid cells are common in many organisms where one chromosome come from the mother gamete and the other from the father gamete and makes the homologues chromosomes. In diploid homologues, chromosome are 2n where n is the number of homologues of each chromosome.

In haploid there is only one set of each chromosome and mainly takes place by meiosis. In aneuploidy is the condition where the number of homologues chromosomes are not as the normal genome of the organism for example in humans instead of 46 chromosomes there 45 or 47 chromosome found.

What is a cause and effect of a local environmental problem related to human activity?
Fantom [35]
There is a serious problem related to global warming is that in British Columbia there is a scourge of our pine trees occurring in our dry Interior of what is called a pine beetle. Since it doesn't get below about -30 degrees centigrade for 3 weeks anymore in the winter, these pests do not get killed in the winter so for probably at least 15-20 years now they have gone on the rampage and killed large swaths of our pine forests.

When the sawmills in BC saw this pine beetle-killed lumber it is so dry it creates a lot of fine dust in the mills. Due to poor control of this dust there has been two explosions in which this dust has ignited and 2 or 3 workers have been killed as a result. So in this way global warming can be deadly to human activity if extra precautions are not taken.
