Why are ammonite fossils found in the Himalayas?
sertanlavr [38]

Answer;

This is because most likely some time a ago there use to be Ammonites living there and as they died there, they got fossilized.

Explanation;

-Fossils of a marine animal called Ammonite are found in large numbers in the Kali Gandaki river in Nepal. Ammonites were sea animals having shells - either straight or coiled. When the Tethys sea disappeared, they were caught in the shale layers of clay and transformed into fossils. This is one of the proofs that the Himalayas were indeed once under water.

Juli2301 [7.4K]
When someone is lactose intolerant, it means its intestine cannot absorb lactose, which will stay in the lumen and be consumed by intestinal bacteria and produced gases, that's why intolerant lactose people have flatulence and abdominal pain while eating food with lactose in it.
Let's go back to the question, before being consumed, lactose in the lumen intestine will attract water from the enterocytes to its side by oncotic pressure.

Do not confound oncotic pressure (which concerns macromolecules like sugar or proteins) and osmotic pressure (which concern micromolecules like small ions (sodium potassium and chloride...)).

Give one example of how the testing of Platismatia glauca could benefit future ecological research of this forest.
storchak [24]

Answer:

Testing Platismatia glauca could help scientists understand which pollutants have the largest effect on lichen populations. It also may help scientists understand the current pollutant levels in the atmosphere compared to the population of lichens on the trees. This information can help them more accurately predict population changes over time.

hope this helps:)
