Given:

The graph of a relation.

To find:

The domain, range and check whether it is a function or not.

Solution:

Domain: The set of x-values or input values is known as domain.

Range: The set of y-values or output values is known as range.

A relation is a function if their exist unique outputs for each input. In other words a graph is a relation if it pass the vertical line test.

Vertical line test: Each vertical line intersect the graph at most once.

The given function is defined for all real values of x. So, the domain of the given graph is:

Domain=(\infty,\infty)

The given function values can be any real number between -1 to 1. So, the range of the given graph is:

Range=[-1,1]

For all values of x we have a unique value of the function and the given graph intersect each vertical line at most once.

Since the graph pass the vertical line test therefore the given graph is a function.

Suppose you invested $1500 in an ac count that paid an annual of 3% compound monthly. How much would you have after 1 year?
Sati [7]

Answer:

1545.62

Step-by-step explanation:

The calculation of compound interests uses this formula:

<h2>A = P (1 + \frac{r}{n} )^{n*t}</h2>

Where  A = total amount, P = principal or amount of money deposited, r = annual interest rate, n = number of times compounded per year  and t = time in years.

So, if we plug-in the numbers of the problem we have:

<h2>A = 1500 (1 + \frac{0.03}{12} )^{12*1}</h2>

Which gives us:

A = 1500 * 1.0025^{12} = 1500 * 1.030416 = 1545.62

For a grand total of 1,545.62 including capital and interests.

What are the solutions to the equation x² = 256?
Artyom0805 [142]
X = 16
x = - 16

You could do it this way
x^2 - 256 = 0
(x - 16)(x + 16) = 0
x - 16 = 0
x = 16

x + 16 = 0
x  = - 16

Geometry help needed, thanks!!
Anon25 [30]

Answer:

Part 1) 0.669

Part 2) x=23.78 cm

Step-by-step explanation:

Part 1) we have

cos(48°)

Using a calculator

cos(48°)=0.66913

Round to the nearest thousandth

0.66913=0.669

Part 2) we know that

In the right triangle of the figure

The cosine of angle of 18 degrees is equal to divide the adjacent side to the angle of 18 degrees by the hypotenuse of the right triangle

so

cos(18°)=x/25

x=(25)cos(18°)=23.78 cm
