The diagnosis of osteoporosis can be made by using X-rays and doing a test to measure bone density.

Osteoporosis can be treated by using medications, lifestyle changes like doing regular exercises, taking calcium and vitamin D diets and supplements, putting a stop to alcohol consumption and cigarette smoking.
