Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

f(x) = 4^x

g(x) = f(x -1) + 3

g(x) = 4^(x - 1) + 3

See the diagram that is below.

Red line: f(x) = 4^x

Blue line: g(x) = f(x - 1) + 3

The graph has been transformed so that f(x) moves upwards by 3 unitsw to get to g(x)

Furthermore,  if x = 0 the y intercept for f(x) = 1

If x = 0 then g(x) moves up 3 spaces by virtue of the 3, and and up another 1/4 because the first term becomes 4^-1 = 1/4. This 1/4 gets added to the 3 to give 3 1/4

Find n(A) for the following set. <br> A={a,b,c,...,z}
MariettaO [177]

n(A) = 26

Solution:

Let us first define the cardinal number of the set.

Cardinal number of the set:

The number of distinct elements in a finite set is called its cardinal number. It is denoted as n(A).

Given set: A = {a, b, c, .... z}

We know that, there are 26 elements in the alphabet "a to z".

Number of elements in the set A = 26

Hence n(A) = 26.

A)

\bf log_4(x)=3\\\\&#10;-----------------------------\\\\&#10;log_{{  a}}{{  a}}^x\implies x\qquad \qquad &#10;\boxed{{{  a}}^{log_{{  a}}x}=x}\impliedby &#10;\begin{array}{llll}&#10;\textit{we'll use this}\\&#10;\textit{cancellation rule}&#10;\end{array}\\\\&#10;-----------------------------\\\\&#10;4^{\cfrac{}{}log_4(x)}=4^3\implies x=4^3

b)

\bf 3^{2y}=81\qquad &#10;\begin{cases}&#10;81=3\cdot 3\cdot 3\cdot 3\\&#10;\qquad 3^4&#10;\end{cases}\implies 3^{2y}=3^4\impliedby &#10;\begin{array}{llll}&#10;\textit{same base}\\&#10;exponents\\&#10;must\ be\\&#10;the\ same&#10;\end{array}&#10;\\\\\\&#10;2y=4\implies y=\cfrac{4}{2}\implies y=2

The diameter of Mercury is approximately 4.9×1034.9×103 kilometers. The diameter of Saturn is approximately 1.2×1051.2×105 kilom
mrs_skeptik [129]
To get the difference between the two diameters, all you have to do is subtract the smaller diameter (Mercury) from the larger diameter (Saturn) as follows:

Difference between the two diameters =diameter of Saturn-diameter of Mercury
Difference between the two diameters = (1.2*10^5) - (4.9*10^3)
Difference between the two diameters = 115100 km
