Solve the system of equations.
8x + 5y = 24
y = -4x
x =
y =
Trava [24]

Answer:

x = -2

y = 8

Step-by-step explanation:

8x + 5y = 24

y = -4x

8x + 5 (-4x) = 24      (Substitute y value)

8x - 20x = 24           (Multiply)

-12x = 24 (Combine like terms and divide)

x = -2

y = -4 (-2)                   (Substitute x value. Multiply)

y = 8

Help me i dont want to flunk
Ede4ka [16]
Okay so I have looked at this and I think I know how to do it...

since its an irregular shape you need to section it into shapes, so for this you have a square and a rectangle.

So lets start with triangle... (base × height)/2

It looks like the base of the triangle is the side that says 12 for the whole shape.
Subtract 5 from 12 you get 7 so the base is 7
The Height is 5
So your equation is...
(7 x 7)/2
(49)/7
7

Next is the square... a^2

5 x 5
25

Add them together...

7 + 26 = 32

And you get your area of 32

Hope this helps!

Part A
natulia [17]

Answer:

To find the measure of an interior angle of a regular polygon, take the sum of all interior angles and divide by the number of angles. The sum of all interior angles can be found by (n - 2)*180 where n is the number of sides, in this case 24. So all the interior angles add to 3960 degrees.

What is the length of the longest side of a triangle that has vertices at (-4,2), (-4,5), and (3,2)
Leto [7]
That length is the distance between (-4, 5) and (3, 2), computed using the Pythagorean theorem as
.. √((5 -2)^2 +(-4-3)^2) = √(9+49)
.. = √58
.. ≈ 7.616
