Answer:

1.) y = -6

2.) y = 5/3x - 7

3.) y = 5

4.) y = -3x + 1

5.) x = -3

Step-by-step explanation:

So the equation you want to use is this:   \frac{y2-y1}{x2-x1}

1.) Plug in

\frac{-6 - (-6)}{6 - 2} \\\\\frac{0}{4} = 0\\

This line is zero slope to find the y-intercept get one of you points and plug them and the slope into this equation y = mx+ b. We will use (2,-6)

-6 = 0(2) + b (b represents y-intercept) (0*2=0)

-6 = b

So the equation is y = -6

2.) Do the same thing.

\frac{3-8}{6-9}  \\\\\frac{-5}{-3} =\frac{5}{3}

It's positive because when you divide a negative by a negative you get a positive. Plug in a point (6, 3) y = mx + b (b represents y-intercept)

3 = 5/3(6) + b (5/3*6 = 10)

3 = 10 + b (subtract 10 on both sides)

-7 = b

y = 5/3x - 7

3.) For this one you are just going to point slope form. y - y1 = m(x - x1)

Plug in

y - 5 = 0(x - (-8))

y - 5 = 0 (add 5 to both sides)

y = 5

4.) Do \frac{y2 - y1}{x2 - x1} for this one

Plug in

\frac{-5 - 7}{2 - (-2)} \\\\\frac{-12}{4} = -3

So the slope is -3. Plug into y = mx + b with the point (2, -5)

-5 = -3(2) + b (b represents y-intercept)

-5 = -6 + b (add 6 to both sides)

1 = b

The equation is y = -3x + 1

5.) Do the same thing as #4

\frac{-8 - (-5)}{6 - 6} \\\\\frac{-3}{0}

This slope is undefined

Since you can't divide by 0 the equation would be

x = -3

Hope this helps ya!!

Answer:

strawberry=7/8

Step-by-step explanation:

treat strawberry as x

add on proportions

1 1/8+ 3/4+ 1 3/4 + x = 4 1/2

(9+6+14)/8 + x = 9/2

29/8 +x = 9/2

x= 9/2 - 29/8

x= (36-29)/8

x=7/8

I really need help. Solving Systems with Substitution<br><br> y=2x<br> x+y=(-9)
Viktor [21]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

If you let y=2x, you can plug it into the other equation.

x+2x=-9

Then solve that equation.

3x=-9

x=-3

Then use y=2x to find y.

y=2(-3)=-6

y=-6

The equation represents an ellipse. which point is the center of the ellipse? (−9, 5) (−5, 9) (5, −9) (9, −5)
Igoryamba

The point which is the center of the ellipse whose equation is; (y+5)²/121+(x-9)²/49=1 s in the task content is; (-5, 9).

<h3>Which point represents the center of the ellipse whose equation is given as; (y+5)²/121+(x-9)²/49=1?</h3>

It follows from convention that the equation of an ellipse usually takes the form;

(y-h)²/a²+(x-k)²/b²=1 in which case, the center of the ellipse is given by the point; (h, k).

On this note, By comparison of the actual equation and the standard equation, it follows that;

+5 = -h and consequently, h = -5,

-9 = -k and consequently, k = 9.

Ultimately, the point which is the center of the

ellipse is; (-5, 9).

Remark: The equation of the ellipse which is missing in the task content is; (y+5)²/121+(x-9)²/49=1
