Answer:

See explanations below

Step-by-step explanation:

Let the amount of nickel be x

Let the amount of pennies be y

Let the amount of quarters be z

If the the total value of the coins is 3.88, then;

x+y+z = 3.88 .... 1

If Anita has 4 more nickels than pennies, then;

x = y + 4 ... 2

If she has 2 more than 4 times the number of quarters than pennies, then;

y = 2 + 4z

4z = y-2

z = (y-2)/4 ...3

Substitute 2 and 3 into 1

y+4+y+(y-2)/4 = 3.88

4y+16+4y + y-2 = 15.52

9y + 14 = 15.52

9y = 15.52 - 14

9y = 1.52

y = 1.52/9

y = 0.17

Since x = y + 4

x = 0.17+4

x  = 4.17

z = y-2/4

z = 0.17-2/4

z = -1.83/4

z = - 0.46

Marianna [84]

Answer:

Rectangle A is not a scale drawing.

Rectangle B is a scale drawing.

Step-by-step explanation:

A scale drawing involves ratios.

Rectangle A:

10cm is double the original 5cm giving us a 1 : 2 ratio.

However, 25cm is <em>not</em> double the original 20cm. This means that this rectangle is not to scale of the given rectangle.

Rectangle B:

10cm is double the original 5cm giving us a 1 : 2 ratio once again.

This time however, 40cm is double the original 20cm. This means that this rectangle is a scale drawing of the given rectangle.

~Hope this Helps!~

PERSON WHO GETS THIS RIGHT WILL GET A LOTTT OF POINTS 60+
jarptica [38.1K]

Answer:

See below.

Step-by-step explanation:

a.

x = cost of adult ticket

y = cost of student ticket

cost of adult ticket is twice the cost of a student ticket

x = 2y

number of adult tickets = 64

number of student tickets = 132

cost of all adult tickets = 64x

cost of all student tickets = 132y

cost of all adult and student tickets combined: 64x + 132y

cost of all adult and student tickets combined: 1040

This gives us the equation:

64x + 132y = 1040

b.

Use substitution to solve the system of equations. Since x = 2y, where you see x in the second equation, substitute it with 2y.

64(2y) + 132y = 1040

128y + 132y = 1040

260y = 1040

y = 1040/260

y = 4

x = 2y = 2(4) = 8

adult ticket: $8

student ticket: $4

Two different simple random samples are drawn from two different populations. The first sample consists of 20 people with 9 havi
QveST [7]

Answer: (-0.48,\ -0.04)

Step-by-step explanation:

The confidence interval for the difference of two population proportion is given by :-

(p_1-p_2)\pm z_{\alpha/2}\sqrt{\dfrac{p_1(1-p_1)}{n_1}+\dfrac{p_2(1-p_2)}{n_2}}

Given : The first sample consists of 20 people with 9 having a common attribute.

Here, n_1=20 , p_1=\dfrac{9}{20}=0.45

n_2=2100 , p_1=\dfrac{1492 }{2100}\approx0.71

Significance level : \alpha=1-0.95=0.05

Critical value : z_{\alpha/2}=1.96

A 95% confidence interval for the difference of two population proportion will be :-

(0.45-0.71)\pm z_{\alpha/2}\sqrt{\dfrac{0.45(1-0.45)}{20}+\dfrac{0.71(1-0.71)}{2100}}\\\\\approx -0.26\pm0.22\\\\=(-0.26-0.22,-0.26+0.22)\\\\=(-0.48,\ -0.04)
