Which is a characteristic of exponential population growth?
Rudik [331]

A characteristic of exponential population growth is that resources are consumed exponentially during all phases

Explanation:

Exponential growth is a type of growth where the population doubles its population size with each generation. Bacteria are the best examples of organisms that can exhibit this type of growth. However, just as the growth of the population is exponential, so is the consumption of resources. With each generation as the population doubles, the strain on the resources increases. This continues until the resources become depleted and cannot sustain the population numbers. Because resources are always infinite, this is why it is rare to find any population, including bacteria, sustaining exponential growth for long periods. Most common population growth is logistic (S-shaped).

What does it mean to say that double-stranded nucleic acids are
antiparallel?
Elanso [62]

Answer:

DNA is the genetic material of all the living organism except some viruses. The structure and the characteristics of the DNA was well explained by Watson and Crick.

DNA is a double stranded molecule in which nitrogenous bases are linked together. Watson and crick explained that DNA strand are antiparallel. The antiparallel nature of the strand means one DNA gas a polarity of 5' to 3' direction whereas the another strand of the DNA gas polarity of 3' to 5' direction. These two strands has opposite polarity and runs in anti parallel directions. Thus, the DNA strand known as antiparallel strands.
