Answer:

a

Explanation:

When a gene mutation occurs, the nucleotides are in the wrong order which means the coded instructions are wrong and faulty proteins are made or control switches are changed. The body can't function as it should. Mutations can be inherited from one or both parents. They are present in the egg and/ or sperm cells.

What are the pros and cons of dams used to control the flow of a river?
Oliga [24]

<em>One of the benefits is that we can control where the water flows which allows us to make more structures around the world. However, when we make dams, the water cannot create natural levees and that is bad because natural levees are supposed to break so that it can spread soil from upriver, which protects the land around it. One example of this is the Mississippi river, which does not make natural levees that would protect the mouth of the river or the Gulf of Mexico. That means that the coast would be more subject to damage by hurricanes.</em>

<em>Hope this helps and have a nice day.</em>

Why is it necessary to match the donor's and the recipients blood before a transfusion is given
Snezhnost [94]
It is necessary to match the donor's and the recipient's blood before a transfusion because the immune system will react badly if blood cells are not compatible. The immune system is responsible for patrolling or for guarding the circulation in the body. Without its proper function, the body will be exposed into different types of infections.

When blood goes through the process of transfusion, the cells are treated the same way as infections or foreign invaders. When they are not compatible with the recipient the immune system will be massively activated which can cause immediate clotting systems in the blood. The results of this clotting can lead to shock, kidney failure, collapse of the circulatory system, and worst death.
